Thanks for visiting my website - I was told I should hire a publicist to create the "About Me" content. Until that happens, I'll toot my own horn about the credentials earned over the past twenty-one years.

I just received my Master of Photography degree and also hold the Photographic Craftsman and Certified Professional Photographer achievements from the Professional Photographers of America.

And the Professional Photographers of Louisiana has seen fit to bestow upon me the Fellowship Award, Artistry degree and Ralph Plaideau, Sr. Service award.

These medals and certificates perhaps mean little to my cherished clients; I worked to obtain these things to prove to myself that I've earned the privilege of calling myself a Professional Photographer. It wasn't easy, and nothing worthwhile ever is. I taught a lot of workshops, attended many, many more, volunteered at the national and state conventions, sweated through print competitions, exhibited at dozens of art shows, and laughed, cried and learned with the best of 'em - and the beginners, too.

"Phillip Colwart is a professional photographer with a broadcasting background who grew up in New Orleans, and has lived in Hammond, LA since 1986. Colwart spent fourteen years as Neill Corporation's audio-visual producer, opened his studio in 2003, became a Certified Professional Photographer in 2007, received his Photographic Craftsman degree in 2013 and Master of Photography in 2023. He has contributed photography to Richard Murphy Hospice Foundation, Southeastern Louisiana University, Crimestoppers of Tangipahoa, Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep and other worthy causes. Colwart is a member of the Professional Photographers of America and Tangipahoa Chamber of Commerce, a long-term blood donor, served as Board President of the Hammond Regional Arts Center, and currently serves on the Professional Photographers of Louisiana board."
